Who Are We?

Dirtyxcode.com is a premier website for things techie & nerdy, including but not limited to: Computers & Technology, Programming & Software, Gaming, Mobile Platforms, Social Networking and anything else that is awesome.  What makes this site different from all the rest is that people running this site are actual human beings with day jobs.  We aren’t wholly owned by some big conglomerate. We are average Joes and Bobs who put time and dedication into the things we enjoy most.  Please tell all your friends about this site.

I booted on my first computer (Packard Bell 100 Mhz Windows 3.1) almost 15 years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since! I try to spend as much time as possible with the loves of my life, wife and baby girl, but when I have some spare time I like to dabble in PHP, iPhone Dev, all things internet. My favorite band is AFI and it’s too cold in my room to type anymore.

I’m into in all things related to technology. I’ve become a self-taught geek extraordinaire since using my first computer (Packard Bell 25 Mhz Windows 3.1) at age 16. I keep an opened mind as far as geeky stuff goes and I jump from hobby to hobby like an attention deficit 6 year old. My favorite band is Bad Religion (whom I’ve seen live 6 times and counting) and I like most types of punk rock and similar types of music. I enjoy spending time with the wife and our new baby boy as much as I can in between our crappy work schedule. If I can squeeze in some time I enjoy playing console and computer games, and I’m a closet cased World of Warcraft player (I guess I’m out of the closet now!).

I am lover of all things nerdy and technology.  I started with a hand-me-down IBM PC Junior many years ago and have moved up from there, through various versions of Windows and then later on to Linux and its many variants.  I love being able to tweak my gadgets and technology to do whatever I want with them, whether that be hacking it to enable hidden features or just customizing the look/sound/appearance of the device.  I don’t like it when companies lock down products so that end users cannot modify them easily, so I am always looking for ways around those restrictions.  I love discussing tech products and trends almost to a fault.
