Make Shiretoko (Firefox) More Compatible!

ShiretokoIf you haven’t heard, Shiretoko (http://www.latko.org/downloads/) is the codename for internal builds of Firefox 3.5. If you are running an Intel-Optimized version of this browser on your Mac then you’ve probably seen those annoying errors that say “This web-site is incompatible with your browser”. Those errors are truly annoying and they prevent you from viewing the intended web-site, well here’s an easy fix!

In Shiretoko’s location bar, type about:config, proceed if you see a warning dialog, then search for user and you will see a field pop up that says general.useragent.extra.firefox, now double click on that field and replace the current text with Firefox/3.5.5. That’s it!

Secrets: Recommended OS X Download

I’m noticing a trend of in depth tutorial posts from my fellow writer and site founder Skafia surrounding OSX related tweaks and enhancements. To kind of add to this I would like to bring up a great little System Preferences add-on called Secrets.

It’s a pretty awesome tool that I have yet to use to its fullest potential. It has a strong database of hidden setting tweaks and adjustments that can easily be toggled and experimented [...]
